The Next Step



The Next Step

I know I have told you that I would try to put up a post a week, well I’m a little slow this week because of Illness.

On My First Tip I told you to stop drinking soda pop.

This is the number one reason you’re holding onto all that fluid that, as mine felt like, the ocean sloshing when you walk. “Oops Sorry, this means you beer drinkers out there as well.  I am sorry but all those bubbles in that sauce that you like to drink is sodium and will anchor fat onto your body.
If you must drink an alcoholic drink,
Then make it Wine
Red or White Neither One have salt or sugar!

My Tip For This Week.

# 2. Do not eat corn of any kind, any process including Pop Corn.
Reason:  Your body thinks you are going into a famine season and holds the body fat, especially women!  Women are equipped with more fat cells than men.
This is where the old saying goes Feast or Famine.
Not to mention the amount of salt and real butter that folks tend to put on pop corn.


Now for the Exersize part of this site.

I started out walking!  I thought putting on ankle weights and walking 10 miles would get the weight off.

      Well, two sprained ankles later (and one was three miles from home and I had to hobble the rest of the way home on an ankle that turned out to be broken) I finally realized this was too painful for as heavy a person as I was.  At this point I think I was at 295.  This is not mentioning that the back was taking a beating as well.  

I have had a bad back for most of my life.  I was thrown from a horse and landed flat on my butt when I was about 20 years old.  When I hit the ground my back went into an S shape from my waste down.

I finally gave up on the long distance walking.  Not being able to do any exercise really put me in a depression that was the hardest thing for me to come out of.

I have to hand it to being depressed about my weight and my second sprained ankle though.   I was up watching late night T.V. when I saw Tony Little’s Commercial on the Gazelle one night.  I must have watched it 8 to 10 times before I finally sent for the Gazelle.   I have never been sorry.  I’m getting my exercise and no sprained ankles. And no more hard pounding when running or walking.  This means my back isn’t taking that beating any more either.

I’m not telling you to go out and buy one of these machines, they are expensive, but I’ve never been happier.  You can run while watching T.V. and the big one is, you’re doing this without all the jarring impact of running or walking.  It only takes 15 minutes 3 times a week.  

Oh, of course I am still doing my Pilates three times a week as well.  When I was real heavy I could not do my Pilates.  I was so fat that I could not get into the positions that it takes to do Pilates.

Now, what it all boils down to is this: you must take action.  You cannot sit on the couch eating junk food and drinking soda pop thinking that you’re going to loose that ocean that is sloshing every time you take a step.

HOW IT ALL STARTED



My story starts out as a size 9 
 and looking great.  I had had three children by this time.  I was dieting and exercising doing Pilates every day.  I was 36 and the diet that I was on was not anything out standing, I was not a vegetarian or any thing like that.  I felt great and Life was Grand.
Then, during the year I was 36 the Dr.’s found a very large lump in my left breast.  I had to have the large lump removed.  They told me that they thought that they had gotten it all and that everything should be fine.  I have since found that they did not get it all.
Then at the age of 39 my back started to hurt every time that woman’s thing came along.  I would feel like someone was taking a chain saw to my lower back.  There was one time that I remember that it was hurting so bad that I almost didn't make it home from school.  The Dr.’s again went to work to find the problem.  Well of course it was cancer.   I knew if I didn’t finish college, I would never be able to go back, so I kept putting this off. 
When I finally consented to the surgery the Dr. told me that I had waited too long.  And, he could not guarantee my outcome.  So, off I went to surgery with no guarantee that I would live through this whole thing. 
I was unaware of anything for about 4 weeks.  They had taken everything out of me that was female.  When I finally came out of it enough to tell the Dr. to lay off on the pain killers, that I was allergic and that the more he gave me the worse I was getting.  Just give me Tylenol.  I had already gained at this time about 20 lbs. I walked around feeling like I had been injected with the ocean. I felt like I slashed when I walked.
When I finally got out of the hospital I would ware nothing but sweat outfits because I had gained about 30 lbs. at this point.  They had been giving me all that I.V. sugar and salt.  What was worse, I kept going up in weight without even trying.  Nothing was working.
I had to go to a dress up thing and needed to be in a dress or skirt and blouse.
I went to the closet and looked for the skirt that I knew would be loose and comfortable to ware for a long time because it had been so big on me.  As I stepped into the skirt and tried to pull it up, I could not get it over my hips.  I tried to pull it down over my head and could not get it past my boobs, and that was a size 16.

It was, OH MY GOD!

And I sat down and cried for a year.  I had gained a total of 136 Pounds! I ended up in a size 28 and weighing 280 lbs. 
Even I could not believe what had happened.  And what was even worse, my husband left me over it!!
So, you see it is really rough on a heavy person. 
I have experienced what and how people treat you when you’re thin and in good shape.  And then I have experienced what it was like for a heavy person in the same places and with the same people that knew you when you were thin. 

They say that there is a crisis in the US today! And that is that the Over Weight people are Over Populating the country.
In other words, there are more heavy folks than thin folks. So this is for the heavy folks that need that help that I finally got.  This is not just because you’re over weight, or you need to diet, it is for your health as well.
And this MY FRIEND is why I am putting this site together. 

 I have been there and done that.  I even bought the t-Shirt.

I have found a couple of guys that have helped me a lot.  I would recommend that you take a good look at each of them.  The first one is about the weight that we all need to loose.  And the second one is about how to get rid of that ugly cellulite, and it really works.

I will be doing a blog a week with pointers and tips on dieting and how to get that miserable weight off.  I have things for women that have belly fat that you just cannot get rid of.  I have a really good exercise for that one.  Also, I have a good one to get rid of that cellulite that comes with the weight that we all know about.

And here is my first of many tips for those of you who are truly wanting to lose that weight that just will not go away.

1)  If you're currently drinking even one soda pop a day, than you must stop right away. 
Reason:  I went back and thought about the ways and things that I was eating and drinking when I was at that size 9 and one of the things that I would absolutely not drink was soda pop. Sugar or diet.  It has so much sodium in it with or with out the sugar that it will keep that weight on you no matter what.  
I dropped 26 pounds practically over night because I stopped putting all that sodium in my body each day.
Drink Ice Tea with Lemon.
